Medicine Wheel Teaching Series
This series is a four-part journey into the teaching of the Cherokee Medicine Wheel. It includes an introduction, a guided meditation, and a teaching of the meaning and purpose of the Wheel. The culmination of the program will be a ceremony during which a Medicine Wheel will be physically built on the campus of Unity in Lynnwood by its community. This teaching is offered in gratitude for those who walked this land before us and lived in a sacred manor with respect for Mother Earth and the great web of life. The Cherokee Wheel teaching was given to Starfeather by her friend and teacher White Horse Woman, a Cherokee medicine woman who received the teaching from her grandmother Charlotta. This and other ceremonies were passed to Starfeather during a four-day Walk into the Elders Lodge initiation ceremony in 1995.

Tao’n Time Book Study
Tao-N Time will be a place where seekers of truth can come together to share their journey with likeminded individuals from different walks of life; a time to dig deeper into your personal understanding of the mysteries that surround us, while we learn from and inspire each other. We will gather to read, discuss, and savor the hidden beauty within Lao Tzu’s master work the "Tao Te Ching.” All are welcome to join us, so they can hear and be heard as we explore this 2,500-year-old text that is still as relevant today as it was when it was first written. Facilitated by Phillip Patzer, this series will feature his book, Tao Te Ching: A Fresh Look at Ancient Wisdom, available in the UIL gift shop.

Hibulb Cultural Center Field Trip
Unity in Lynnwood’s Indigenous Heritage Committee is sponsoring a field trip to the Hibulb Cultural Center on the Tulalip Reservation in Marysville. The Hibulb Cultural Center sits on a 50-acre natural history preserve. It features galleries of art and artifacts, a replica longhouse, a gift shop and more. We promise: this will be an educational experience worth your time and attention.
Enjoy Sunday’s service and lunch at our monthly potluck before carpooling from the church lot north on I-5 about 20-30 minutes to the Center. For fun, we encourage people to consider bringing a dish to the potluck that reflects our local Coast Salish history or other indigenous traditions! There are lots of ideas on the internet, e.g. https://www.powwows.com/25-favorite-native-american-recipes/
Please plan to join us and be inspired by the reverent ways of caring for Mother Earth and her gifts by a people who knew and lived their belief in Oneness for approximately 8-10,000 years before European settlers arrived. The Center honors all the various tribes which inhabited the greater Snohomish County area. The cost for a ticket will be $6.00 per person at the Center.
