STANDING FIRM
WHEN YOUR WORLD IS SHAKING

Fridays - May 23 through June 13
6:30-7:30 PM

Suggested Love Offering:  $99

Practicing purposeful action in alignment with our values is a key to our growth in these trying times. As Wendell Berry in his famous essay, In the Presence of Fear reminds us, "The key to peaceableness is continuous practice."

A new class on the topic of the Dark Night of the Soul, called Standing Firm When Your World is Shaking will begin Friday, May 23rd. We'll study the work of Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey, using processes designed by teacher and author Mary Morrissey. This 4-part series will be facilitated by UIL Director of Prayer Ministry, Dana Consuelo.

In this class, you will be guided through the four steps that Campbell developed through his research of human behavior in times of crisis. Our first step will be to face our dark night, whether a current challenge or an unhealed memory from the past. The next week, you'll start the hero's journey out of the darkness. Week three you'll begin to understand that there is good to harvest from the difficult experience and how to do that, and week four you'll find this hardship is potentially an opportunity to create a new beginning for yourself. And most importantly, you'll learn how to call upon your inherent power and inner strength as resources to navigate the difficulty.

Using journaling and discussion within a small group, Dana will share teachings and tools to help unlock your energy so you will gain more awareness of how to best move forward. Remember, you are more powerful than any situation, circumstance or condition.

This 4-part Zoom only series begins Friday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m.  A Zoom link will be sent upon registration.

Suggested Love Offering of $99. All proceeds will be for UIL’s Youth camp fund.
